Be Mindful when social distancing message winging its way across blackpool, fylde and wyre

There are more than 500 businesses across Blackpool, Flyde and Wyre, who have already made positive changes to become more accessible to everyone.

But since then, a lot has changed in the wake of Covid-19. Businesses have faced many challenges, from re-designing walkways, introducing one-way systems, installing wash and sanitising stations, to re-open safely.

In tackling coronavirus and re-starting in a new normal, we wanted to pass on a few tips  to help businesses to ensure that social distancing measures continue to support disabled people.

And, in partnership with PNG, we have produced stickers for businesses to help remind staff and other customers to be mindful of people with disabilities.

From explaining a new one-way system, to communicating with face masks, there are plenty of accessibility aspects to be mindful of.

They’re now winging their way via Royal Mail to all businesses who have had an access guide since the project started last year.

Any businesses who would like a sticker for their premises or an access guide can get in touch hello@disabilityfirst.org
